A typical evening. The kids had finished their homework and had a little time to kill. They decided to take turns pretending to chop, poke, shove, or psychically push each other into falling over the back of the love seat. I try to discourage this type of activity, since it seems like an obvious candidate to end with a fight or with someone getting hurt… or both. But, shockingly, it was just 15 minutes of fun and laughter and totally conflict-free fake battle, ending peacefully when Matthew had to go get changed for karate.

Someone please tell me how they can get along so well while pretending to demolish each other, and then turn around and end up in an all out wrestling screech fest over choosing a TV show or deciding who gets to sit in which spot on the couch? :b
