Day 195 – July 14, 2010 :: Impending Insulation

Mark decided we needed more insulation in the attic, so he headed over to Lowe’s to pick up 100 bags and borrow their blower.

The kids “helped” unload the four van-loads.

All prepped and ready for the next morning. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

We had no idea what we were in for. LOL

Day 194 – July 13, 2010 :: Brownie Batter Bowl

Baking lesson #3 – brownies. We found a recipe online, and it was delicious. Kaylee made sure every last bit of batter got eaten, even if it didn’t make it into the pan. ;)

Lesson #2 was Red Lobster type cheese biscuits. They turned out good too, although we decided they need more cheese next time. But Kaylee didn’t enjoy that lesson as much, since I kind of had to rush her so that they would get done at the some time as the rest of the meal. I think we’ll probably stick to desserts for a bit longer, although she hasn’t decided exactly what she wants to try next.

Day 193 – July 12, 2010 :: Beware of Dragon

After a long hiatus, Matthew unearthed his HeroScape game sets from the depths of his closet. The dragon is his favorite piece.

This is yet another game that falls into the “Mark & Matthew only” category. Waaaaay too complex for me.

Day 192 – July 11, 2010 :: Pillow Monsters

I have no idea what chapter this is of “Weird Things My Kids Do When They Are Bored”… it’s a never-ending saga. Today’s installment involves pillows…

Which, of course, become weapons…

And then Kaylee needs a pillow too…

And chaos ensues…

The end. Until next time…

Day 191 – July 10, 2010 :: Justice Jaunt

We got an ad in the mail a week or so ago that said Justice was having a storewide 40% off sale. Guess who happened to remember that the sale was ending soon. ;)

Kaylee and I spent an hour and a half in the store as she agonized over what to spend her money on. And she humored me with trying on a few things she had no intention whatsoever of buying.

Eventually, she grew a bit tired of my photos, but I figured I earned it by being so patient and letting her take so long to decide. LOL

I don’t have any pictures of her actual purchases, but she finally settled on a tunic top with butterflies, the blue version of this shirt and skirt, a necklace, and a DIY body mist kit. Even on sale, the total put a HUGE dent in her savings. I think we’re safe from another shopping trip for a while.

Day 190 – July 9, 2010 :: Mowing and Molar Madness

While Matthew was impatiently waiting for Mark to finish mowing the weeds and come back inside, he decided to try to knock out a loose tooth that was bothering him by throwing a pillow at his own face over and over again.

It didn’t work. ;)

Day 189 – July 8, 2010 :: Scrapbook Study

I have my screensaver set up to show my layouts, and the kids will often look at them there or online, but I have only actually ever printed my layouts from 2005.  Out of the blue, Kaylee asked to look at the album with those prints. She spent a lot of time over the next 2-3 days poring over every detail, asking lots of questions.

I don’t scrap chronologically anymore, so I’m not sure how I would handle albums, but her interest makes me think I need to figure out a way to print more when it’s in the budget again. :)
