Day 120 – April 30, 2010 :: Errand Girl

Ever have days where it seems like one errand swallows your whole day?  Mark has been doing almost all the shopping for the past 10 months, but he had to help Ronald again on Friday and we desperately needed groceries, so I went.  After picking up a major cartload, and then driving back home and lugging everything in and putting it all away, I was beat.  A late lunch, and then suddenly it was time for the kids to get home from school. A blur of an afternoon/evening (which included almost three hours cleaning Kaylee’s once again disastrous room), and then supper, and then another trip back to the store for a watch battery and a different size rug for the kids’ bathroom (to cover a major hole in the vinyl flooring), and then suddenly the day was over!

Day 119 – April 29, 2010 :: Birthday Boogie

Kaylee, all decked out and dancing around while waiting for the bus on her birthday. Those are her new sandals, and a skirt she bought that same day.  The tiara was already in her collection; she wanted everyone to know it was her birthday! ;) What you don’t see is that under the jacket, she’s also wearing a t-shirt that says “Always the Center of Attention”. Yep, that’s my girl. LOL

Happy 8th Birthday, Princess!

Day 118 – April 28, 2010 :: Laundry Laps

Another installment of “How My Kids Entertain Themselves When They’re Bored”.  This time it was Matthew sliding the laundry basket on the carpeting in laps around the family room as fast as possible.

Sorry, Matthew, there’s no trophy for setting laundry lap records. ;)

Day 117 – April 27, 2010 :: Pivot Pointers

It’s not often that I go sit through Matthew’s karate classes lately. We drop him off for the double classes, and Mark normally takes him for the single ones, but Mark had a really bad cold and wasn’t up to taking him this time. This was the only shot I got, since it was a pretty full class, and most of the time I could barely even see him when he was actually doing anything.  (Sorry for the head in the shot, but that’s the view from the upper guest seating, and the lower seating makes my back hurt. :b )  This was right after he had finished doing his form, and I think the instructor was giving him some advice on pivoting his foot on his turns… not that I could actually hear what he was saying with all the noise. LOL

Day 116 – April 26, 2010 :: Marathon Mania

They have a program at school where they track the amount of running the kids do in PE throughout the year, and by mid-spring it adds up to over 26.2 miles. Each student gets a plastic charm to commemorate the event on the day they hit the mark, and the last couple of years they’ve also gotten t-shirts once everyone has reached the goal. The kids are all so proud of their accomplishment!

My indecisiveness kicked in on these pics, so you get to see a few more of my favorites. :)

Typical goofiness…

Then they tried to make their shirts line up so that it would read across as one. They made several attempts, but it didn’t quite work. LOL

And, finally, I’m not quite sure why I like this one, but I keep coming back to it…

:)

Day 115 – April 25, 2010 :: If the Shoe Fits

I took Kaylee shopping to pick up a few items for her birthday party, and she also wanted to spend some of her money on new clothes.  We pretty much only buy the kids “sensible” shoes, so I wasn’t surprised when she decided to pick up these blingy little numbers. She loves them, and I have to admit, they’re pretty cute… even if she can’t actually walk very well in them yet. What a girl will do for fashion.  ;)

Day 114 – April 24, 2010 :: Kaylee Cadabra

Kaylee has been developing a bit of an interest in magic lately. Mark spent the day helping his friend Ronald McDonald with some appearances and told him about our budding Kaylee Cadabra.  Ronald was impressed, and sent home a new trick for Kaylee – color-changing scarves. She had a great time performing the trick over and over for us. :)
